Health and fitness is a lot more than simply working out in the fitness center with equipment. To achieve ones fitness goals and improving your wellbeing, you must have the knowledge of how to proceed, the body strength to execute the exercises, as well as the determination and persistence to see it through. Apply the following tips to get the most out of your fitness program.

Would you like to make the most out of your exercise regimen? Stretching increases the effectiveness of your exercise, as well as develop your strength. Research indicates it could increase by possibly 20 percent. Take 20-30 seconds to stretch any muscles involved after each exercise you do. Stretching can significantly improve your workouts.

Bring a friend along with you on your runs. Joining up together with buddies for a local run can be quite a very good fitness routine, particularly if your buddies are in better condition. In case your buddy is more fit than you are, you will attempt even harder to keep up with them. Whenever you see someone performing much better than you, this increases your desire to improve your own performance and unleashes your competitive instincts.

Switch out your office chair for an exercise ball. Whenever you take a seat on a ball you are able to help your core muscles tone and improve, and you do this while seated right at your desk. This ball can also be great for wall squats and other every day exercises.

At home, you can work out on a trampoline. It will be more enjoyable if you face a mirror where you can see yourself creating different poses while in the air. Mini trampoline workouts are good for the heart and increases flexibility. There are exercise trampolines that serve this purpose.

Try some wall sits to build your strength in your legs. Before you begin, make sure to look for a wall that is broad enough to accommodate the width of your body. Maintain a distance of a foot and a half, turned away from the wall. While you bend your knees, lean backwards against the wall until your back will make full contact with the wall. Keep on bending your knees until you’re in a position just like sitting, with your thighs aligned with the floor below. Maintain this position until you can no longer endure.

An excellent fitness idea would be to do volunteer work. There is a number of volunteer work which involves physical labor. This will enable you to get fit and provide help to needy organizations.

Do you want to find a way to make chin-ups simpler to do? Altering your mindset can also be of great help. Think about your elbows being pulled down instead of your body being pulled up. By redirecting your mindset, you will be able to do more chin-ups, and they won’t seem as difficult.

Try to keep your bicycling pace somewhere in the range of eighty and one-hundred as well as ten rotations per minute. This rate enables you to ride farther, faster, and will result in much less exhaustion and strain on your knees. By keeping track of the number of times your leg comes to the top in 10 seconds, then multiplying that number by 6, you can figure out your pace. 80 to 110 rpm is the range you need to shoot for when cycling.

Fitness can be enjoyed at various levels, however hardcore fitness enthusiasts will continue fine-tuning their workout routine at every opportunity. With all the new fitness information that you have acquired, you’ll be able to create a successful fitness program customized to your needs and objectives.

Trampoline enclosures are safety structures that prevent the users from falling off the trampoline mat to prevent them from hurting themselves. The best ones are those that hang inside the perimeter rail so that the chance of falling onto the outer rail is much reduced.

Trampolines have become a must for many families over the last few years with kids and parents enjoying endless hours of fun and exercise but with such a rise in popularity it is inevitable although rare that there is a rise in accidents. Trampoline enclosures were created as added accessory in order to prevent acquiring injuries while having fun.

I always stress the importance of having a few ground rules agreed with the kids. For example, only use the trampoline under the supervision of an adult. Only bounce in the centre of the mat and climb on and off using the ladders fitted to the frame.

But no matter how careful and conscientious you all may be the most common accident is – falling off. The only way to deal with this particular problem is to fit an enclosure or safety net.

What is a trampoline enclosure?

A trampoline enclosure or safety net is essentially a net that surrounds the trampoline and prevents you or the kids falling off the trampoline so preventing potentially serious injury.

How does a safety net work?

As stated the safety net is there to ensure that you or the kids do not fall off the trampoline. Having a safety net does not mean that you can ignore other safety measures like ensuring your trampoline is situated in a position away from trees, shrubs and other garden fixtures and fittings.

It should also be on soft ground like on long grass or sand or playground. Accidents on the equipment itself are rare; it is falling on the outer frame or the ground that causes injury.

Benefits of a Safety net

Obviously ensuring no one falls of is the primary aim so I think everyone will agree that is a great benefit. But there are also other benefits that do not spring readily to mind. Watching your kids having fun bouncing and running round the bounce mat showing no fear can be a bit of a nightmare as your stress levels soar and you are forever shouting to them to take it easy and be careful. This is no good for you and can also spoil the kids fun.

With a safety net fitted although an adult should always be present you can sit back in a chair and relax until they wear themselves out. Another plus is that you or the kids can do more on your trampoline, and providing you with the confidence to extend your expertise.

Do enclosures differ?

There are different trampoline enclosures particularly in quality. Most of the safety nets available in the mid and upper range will prevent both adults and children from falling to the ground although not all are able to prevent you from falling on to the outer rail of the frame.

The outer rail is the steel rail all around the frame to which the springs are attached. Although this part of the frame and the springs should be covered by trampoline pads it is the hardest part of the trampoline on which to fall and can be painful. It is therefore recommended you acquire safety nets that hang inside the perimeter rail so that the chance of falling onto the outer rail is much reduced.

Many of the budget nets available are not often constructed in this way indeed most of these feature the net hanging onto the vertical enclosure poles making a fall onto the outer rail inevitable, it also increases the chance of hitting the safety net metal poles.

Safety net recommendations

It is clear then that best and safest enclosures are those whose nets are held off the enclosures. While researching enclosures there were a few that stood out with one provider stating that their favourite safety net is Bazoongi Safety Net, not only for safety features but for value for money and the fact that it blends in well with gardens.

The frame of this particular net looks very much like a series of upside down “U”s, providing greater strength and in turn preventing the vertical poles from bending inwards over time. The net is held away from the outer rail and actually comes inside the padding which increases safety and at the same time protects the pads. The quality of the netting is also good and is not as rough as many others. The colour is black which will help it blend into any back yard without being too imposing.

The Jumpking Safety Net is very similar to the Bazoongi. If you are looking to spend less I found recommendations for the Proline Safety Net. The vertical poles are not joined at the top but it has most of the features of the others and is a strong enclosure with a very good quality net and is coloured green to fit in nicely with a lawn and flora.

Compatibility

There are of course many sizes and many designs but I have concentrated on 12-ft and 14-ft outdoor trampolines with standard leg construction, ie 8 vertical legs. The prices are as follows, Bazoongi 14ft from $119.50, Jumpking 12ft $115.99 on offer at amazon.com for $88.08. Proline and other from $60.00.

Happy Bouncing!

A toddler trampoline is designed for children aged 6 months to 3 yrs. It is built with safety in mind for young bouncers and is built with easy to grip handle to prevent them from falling and extra padding for their bum to land unhurt. It also comes with safety net or enclosure to keep them bouncing within the trampoline.

The words toddler trampoline could strike fear into some parents. The thought of a little loved one bouncing off on a trampoline can be a daunting prospect but fear not. We are talking about bouncers designed specifically for toddlers with every conceivable safety aspect built in.

Will your toddler enjoy bouncing? Just think about how your toddler expends all that pent up energy using your bed or sofa to bounce on when the opportunity arises.

A toddler trampoline can save you the expense of a new bed or sofa at the same time ensuring the little one is learning how to balance whilst building confidence as well as assisting those little limbs and joints to develop.

Choosing the right trampoline for your child and yourself

Toddler trampolines or bouncers as they are often called are for young children from 6 months to 3 years so it is important you think carefully and select the right one for your child.

Six months does sound very young, however at that age many toddlers are attempting to pull themselves up. Most bouncers have a handle for the child to hold in order to prevent them from falling and assist their balance.

Toddler trampolines are ideal for toddlers to learn to get to their feet and when plonking down will have a lovely soft landing.

Of course in a very short time your toddler will be holding the safety rail and bouncing away to their hearts content, and until they are ready for a nap or indeed a good nights sleep. Interestingly many parents say that toddlers love to nap on the trampoline mat.

Please remember your toddlers grow amazingly quickly so ensure you get the right size bouncer so your child can enjoy it for a couple of years and you get full value for money.

If your child is 12 months to 18 months old ensure you purchase a bouncer that will take him/her through to 3 or 4 years. For the very youngest consider the “T P Activity Baby Bubble Bouncer” priced at $59.99 at the moment.

Moving along have a look at the “Pure Fun Kids First Jumper Trampoline” at $46.00. For 36 months and upward a popular choice is the “Alex Little Jumpers Trampoline” priced at $71.09. All these examples can be found at www.amazon.com

Where will the bouncer be used?

Not forgetting that your toddler must be supervised at all times when using the trampoline, decide the best place to locate the bouncer when in use. Ensure it is well away from fixtures and fittings particularly those with sharp edges. You can also surround it with a few cushions as another aid to safety.

The child may also enjoy watching TV or DVD whilst exercising. For slightly older youngsters the bouncers will probably be used outdoors as well. The same safety rules apply here with particular attention to the apparatus being placed on a soft surface or with a fitted cage.

Trampoline enclosures / Safety net

Up to 12 months of age your child will probably be bouncing indoors in safety but up to 3 yrs as mentioned it will be both in and outdoors. There are toddler trampolines that come with attached enclosures that enhances safety even more and these are well worth considering for the slightly older toddlers. Check out the “Pure Fun 55inch Kids Trampoline and Enclosure set” priced at the moment at $119.98 at www.amazon.com

Again be aware of your children’s size and suitability.

Children’s Safety

Although safety has been a constant thread through this article it is important to get together with your child and agree a couple basic rules, eg: You might like to set the following rules;

Bouncing is only allowed when an adult is present.

Only one person on the trampoline at any one time.

Emphasise to the children the need to stick to these rules to ensure many happy hours of bouncing.

There is no doubt that toddler trampoline is a great way to get your little ones healthy and active and will make a wonderful Birthday or Christmas gift.

Happy Bouncing!

A trampoline net is in fact a safety net or often called an enclosure that surrounds the trampoline preventing bouncers from falling off and potentially getting serious injury.

A trampoline net is perhaps the most important safety feature on any trampoline. Without doubt the most frequent injuries whilst trampolining are caused by falling off the trampoline. If you have one or are thinking of acquiring a trampoline and you are considering if you really need a safety net, the answer is an emphatic yes!

Trampolines have grown hugely in popularity over recent years with whole families enjoying endless hours of fun and exercise but with such growth it is inevitable that there will be accidents. Therefore it is important that everything possible should be done to minimize this threat.

Agree a few ground rules with the family. e.g. Only one on the trampoline at any time; Bounce only on the centre of the mat; Children must be supervised by an adult etc. These are all good rules but as stated probably the single most important aid to safety is a safety net.

What is a trampoline net?

It is in fact a safety net (often called an enclosure) that surrounds the trampoline preventing bouncers from falling off and potentially get serious injury. However, the fact that you have a safety net does not mean you should ignore other safety measures e.g. ensure the trampoline is away from other garden fixtures and fittings and on soft ground e.g. long grass or sand.

What to look for?

There are many safety nets on the market but it has to be said the quality and safety features vary greatly. Most nets available in the mid to upper range will prevent both adults and children from falling to the ground although not all are able to prevent the bouncer falling on to the outer rail of the trampoline frame, the outer rail being the steel rail all around the perimeter of the trampoline to which the springs are fixed.

Although this part of the frame should be covered by safety pads it the hardest part of the trampoline on which to fall and can be very painful. It is therefore recommended that your chosen safety net should be designed to hang inside the perimeter rail thereby reducing the chances of falling on to the outer rail.

It should be noted that many budget safety nets are not often constructed in this way indeed many feature the net hanging on to the vertical enclosure poles making a fall on to the outer rail almost inevitable. It also increases the risk of hitting the safety net metal poles.

Can trampolines and safety nets mix and match?

Yes they can. Whatever size the trampoline you own can get a safety that will fit it. There are trampolines that can be purchased with nets attached but we are dealing here with nets for your particular trampoline. Please ensure you also check out the weights the net is designed for.

Safety net sizes

Sizes are obviously dependent on the size of your trampoline. The most common sizes range from 10ft to 16ft and are round, octagonal and rectangular. Having researched companies that provide safety nets I found a company whose products fulfilled all the requirements above and can be found at www.jumpsport.com/safetynets.htm

Their products universal design fits all trampolines 10ft to 16ft. Beginning with safety nets to fit trampolines 10ft to 14ft, the first is model 280 with a double back up safety design that uses two net support systems, a heavy duty top strap. This was the first fail safe system sold. It is rated for 200lb jumpers and priced at $229.95.

Staying with the 10ft to 14ft range, model 380 has triple back up safety design with added strap and shock cord suspension system that improves safety, shock absorption and helps push jumpers back onto the trampoline. It is rated for 230lb jumpers and priced at $259.95.

Model 480 fits sizes 10ft to 16ft and improves on the 380 model with high strength netting that is 70% stronger, the safest Jumpsport system you can buy. The model 480XT covers a size of 15ft to 16ft and rated for 295lb jumpers. It is also worth noting that all of these nets have an overlapping entrance as opposed to a zipped door that can be accidentally left open by excited kids allowing them to fall out.

Added benefits of a safety net

There should of course always be an adult in attendance when kids are jumping. Without a safety net the adult will probably spend the entire jumping session running around as the kid bounces with heart in mouth, stress levels soaring and shouting warnings which unfortunately can ruin a great fun time. With a safety net sit back and watch them having great fun and exercise while you relax.

The fact that you are looking for a trampoline with enclosure and not just any trampoline alone means you have already decided that safety for you and your family is very important. You are quite right, anyone using a trampoline needs assurance that all the precaution possible have been taken to ensure hours of fun without danger.

The Trampoline

Besides enclosures there are other aspects to deal with to ensure safety. Dealing first of all with the trampoline itself, trampolines come in various sizes so we will look at trampolines from 8ft diameter which it can be assumed is for the kids up to 15ft diameter for all the family.

The Trampoline Frame

As the trampoline will probably spend most of its time outside it is important to select one that will stand up to the harsh weather and withstand the use it will get. Many trampoline frames are manufactured using galvanised steel, but after careful research I am convinced that paying that little bit extra to ensure that it is Hot Galvanised i.e. galvanised both inside and out, and the box joints at the top of each leg are extra strong, this will ensure a long life for the frame.

The Springs and Safety pads

As the springs are the things that make the whole thing work make sure they are made of high quality fully galvanised steel.

Moving on to the safety pad, in terms of safety, it is an extremely vital piece of equipment being the section that sits over the frame and springs around the perimeter of the trampoline giving protection to anyone bouncing onto the area. The pad needs to be made of dead cell polyethylene foam and be encased all round by UV resistant re-enforced PVC.

As you can see it is a very important bit of kit which can prevent nasty injuries so choose 30 mm foam.

Trampoline enclosure or Safety net

A trampoline enclosure or safety net as it is also called is essentially a net that surrounds the trampoline and prevents you and the kids from falling off potentially preventing serious injury. Accidents on trampolines are rare, it is the falling on the outer frame or the ground that causes injury. This is why you should take care in selecting the enclosure for your trampoline.

Do enclosures differ?

The answer is yes they do particularly in quality. Most enclosures available in the mid to upper range will prevent both adults and children from falling to the ground although not all are able to prevent you falling onto the outer rail. The outer rail is the steel rail around the frame to which the springs are attached. Although this part of the frame and springs should be covered by the safety pads as mentioned earlier, it is the hardest part of the trampoline on which to fall and can be painful.

It is therefore recommended you acquire an enclosure whose nets hang inside the perimeter rail so that the chance of actually falling onto the outside rail is reduced to the minimum. Many of the budget enclosures available are not often constructed in this way indeed most of these feature the net hanging onto the vertical enclosure poles making a fall onto the outer rail almost inevitable, and also increases the chance of a collision with the metal safety net poles themselves.

Safety net recommendation

Having concluded that the safest enclosures are those whose nets are held off the enclosure, my research came up with the following: one provider stated that their favourite is the Bazoongi Safety Net, not only for its safety features but also value for money and the fact that it blends in well with almost any back yard.

The frame of this particular net looks very much like a series of upside down “U”s, providing greater strength and in turn preventing the vertical poles from bending inwards over time. This model is held away from the outer rail and actually comes inside the pads which increases safety. With good quality black netting it helps to blend into any back yard.

The Jumpking Safety Net is very similar to the Bazoongi. If you are looking to spend a little less there was also a recommendation for the Proline Safety Net. The vertical poles on this are not joined together at the top but it has most of the features of the others with a good quality net green in colour that blends in nicely with a lawn and greenery in the back yard. With prices for all these starting at $60.00 up to $119.50 they are excellent value.

I hope this article has been of help whether you are considering a trampoline with enclosure included or to purchase separately.

Happy bouncing!

Kids trampolines are a great way for your youngsters to let off all that pent up energy and offer great benefits in building confidence and balance as well as assisting those little limbs and joints to grow healthy.

Kids have always had the natural instinct to jump and bounce around. But the problem is, beds or sofas are converted into kids trampolines!

Indeed any soft bouncy surface will do which usually ends in tears and raised voices from mum and dad. So, as this is natural exuberance from almost any kid, what can you do to allow them to let off steam and expend all that pent up energy?

Let them bounce to their hearts content by providing them with a trampoline and until they are so exhausted they need a nap and then are ready for a good nights sleep. Trampolines offer great benefits in building confidence and balance as well as assisting those little limbs and joints to grow healthy.

Trampolines for Appropriate Age Groups

The first picture in the minds eye of many will be that of a huge contraption with athletes bouncing into the sky performing terryfying somersaults etc and to some extent that is right but only for the professional bouncers. What we are looking for here is a trampoline that can be used safely by kids from the age of 18months to 15yrs, both indoors and out.

Choosing the Right Trampoline

As a general guide to assist you in choosing the right one for your child or children most manufacturers recommend the following guidelines:

36 months to 5yrs – Junior Trampoline

5yrs to 12yrs – 8 ft Trampoline

5yrs to 16yrs – 10 ft Trampoline

6yrs to Adult – 12 ft/14 ft/15 ft Trampoline

There are many to choose from and many manufacturers and retailers but to trawl through all the websites reading all the reviews will take you an age and become very confusing hopefully this article will save you the hassle.

Junior Trampolines

It is very important when choosing a junior trampoline to remember that kids grow alarmingly quickly. Therefore, you need to consider what size you require to get full value for your money and ensure that your child will get the full benefit and enjoyment for a long time to come.

Lots come with handles to allow the smallest of children to learn to bounce and ballance, if this is the type you are considering then please ensure the manufacturers recommended weight limits are considered and as stated allow for growth.

Now consider where the trampoline is to be used, if it is going to be solely indoors ensure you have chosen an appropriate place that is well away away from furniture and fittings particularly those with sharp edges.

On the other hand if it is to be used outdoors the same rules apply, and ensure it is used on a soft surface or with a cage fitted.

Other Ages Trampolines

Moving on to trampolines without handles and as you can see from the previous list, those from 8ft to 15ft are suitable for almost any age group but these are generally for outdoor use so there are many considerations before purchase.

Are you sure that it will only be used by the kids? When you see them having so much fun, are you going to resist having a go? If you do, again consider the size of the trampoline and the weight recommendations.

Do ensure you have enough space in your garden so there is no danger from existing garden objects and trees and shrubs and that surface on which it sits is a flat soft surface.

It is also advisable to ensure that the frame of the trampoline is galvanised. That means it is galvanised both inside and out. Likewise the springs and any other metal parts should also be galvanised.

Ensure the bounce mat is manufactured from Grade A, non-abrasive polypropylene. This produces a mat with a tight weave that will ensure the kids are protected from grazing their skin.

Trampoline Enclosures

Trampolines can be used without an enclosure but can be dangerous for kids learning the art of bouncing. Therefore, a Trampoline enclosure or Safety net, as they are sometimes referred, to are a must. They can be bought as a package with the trampoline enclosures attached to the top of the trampoline although it is recommended that a free standing one that goes all the way to the ground is purchased as these are attached to the legs of the trampoline to effectively double the amount of legs giving the trampoline much more stability and strength.

Children’s Safety

Although there has been an emphasis on safety all the way through this article it is important that the kids understand fully that they can only get total fun and satisfaction from a trampoline if they understand the dangers.

So, get the kids together and involve them in setting down a few rules. This way they are more likely to accept that they made the rules with you and are more likely to abide by them.

They do not need a great list of rules but just a few examples. They will only use the trampoline under the supervision of an adult. No more than one at any time on the trampoline. Mount and dismount the trampoline only by the ladder. Not much I know but three little rules that will keep them safe.

If all the safety elements are observed there is no doubt that the kids will love the great fun and benefits to be had from trampolining.

Trampoline Prices

Prices vary for kids trampolines. On Amazon, the price of Alex Little Jumpers is reduced from $99.99 to $73.86, while Pure Fun 14-ft Trampoline Enclosure is now at $139.99 from $149.99.

So shop around for a good deal.

Happy Bouncing!

Indoor trampolines are great in keeping the kids actively engaged during winter months or for adults to workout and stay fit.

As it is unlikely you have a house with a sports hall attached, it is safe to assume that you are looking for an indoor trampoline for the kids to use particularly during the long winter months.

Or, it could be that you yourself are looking for an adult version to work out on. No matter and whatever you are looking for it will need to be chosen with thought.

For the Kids

As a parent you will know that from a very early age kids have always had a natural instinct to jump and bounce around. You will also know that they usually do it on the bed or your sofa or indeed any other soft bouncy surface.

The choice of an indoor trampoline for them to jump and bounce around on to get rid of all that pent up energy is a good investment. From the very young up to say 5 to 6 yrs old using up that energy usually leads to them being ready for a nap or a good night’s sleep.

Benefits

The benefits of trampolines for kids are numerous. They help the young ones to gain confidence and balance, and assist those little limbs and joints to develop healthy.

When those kids who are by nature very active and enjoy physical activity cannot get out to expend their energy a trampoline can be a real alternative allowing them to be as energetic as they want to be so no sulks about not being able to play outside.

There are also kids who by nature do not particularly enjoy outdoor activities or do contact sport etc. A trampoline could just be the thing to build their confidence by allowing them to exercise in the privacy of their home environment.

Junior indoor trampolines

When choosing a junior trampoline please remember that kids grow alarmingly quickly so be careful to select one that is right for your child and will give value for money. All the trampolines and bouncers for toddlers (and there are many of them) have extra padding special handles fitted to allow the children to hold on and bounce safely.

On to the next group up to 6yrs. It is recommended that you consider a trampoline that has handles and padding but the handles are detachable to allow your child to grow with the trampoline and remove the handles as they grow thereby getting full value.

For the adults

Although we have concentrated on indoor trampolines for the kids there are such trampolines for adults to work out on. There are several exercises you can do on an indoor trampoline.

For example, if you want to build up your general fitness and strengthen your legs in preparation for a fun run or half or full marathon, you can do this throughout the winter by jogging on the rebounder. This of course saves you having to train in a gym using a treadmill or facing the winter elements

Working out on trampolines can be made more enjoyable by watching TV or a favourite DVD. It is also possible to acquire exercise and workout DVD’s just for your bouncer. As there is less wear and tear to your legs and joints it can also be ideal for rehabilitation following injury.

Safety

Safety of your children is of course paramount so there are a few things to consider. Not least of all, where is the trampoline to be placed when being used? It is so important to ensure it is well away from household fixtures and fittings. Also consider placing a few cushions around the apparatus until the youngster gets used to it.

Involve your kids in formulating a couple of golden rules. For instance, they will only use the trampoline when an adult is present. Only one kid to be on at any one time. This will ensure that many hours of fun and exercise can be safely enjoyed. If you choose a trampoline that can be folded and stored away when not in use then make sure the kids cannot get to it and erect it themselves.

Choosing the right indoor trampoline

There are many indoor trampolines to choose from so shop around for the one that suits your household. If you are looking for one that you can fold away after use you might want to consider the Galt Folding Trampoline which is on offer at the moment at $53.87 and lets you save $46.17 on SRP. This model has a handle and it does fold neatly away. For the adult consider the Urban Rebounder folding Trampoline Workout System at $88.82 and saves you $41.17. This model also folds neatly away. Both of these can be found at www.amazon.com

Happy Bouncing!

Springless Trampolines are not as popular as standard trampolines but they are gaining in popularity and becoming a better choice for those looking for something a little different.

If you are considering purchasing a trampoline you have probably been looking round and been inundated by so many different models it is blowing your mind, I would also suggest that almost all of these have been the usual easily recognisable trampolines with a bounce mat and springs around the frame.

It is a fact that Springless Trampolines are not as popular yet in the US as they are in other countries in particular Australia. the technology of springless trampolines to some 15 years to perfect. If you are willing to pay the extra cost to acquire a springless trampoline there is no doubt that you will have the safest trampoline on the market today.

The Difference

A Springless Trampoline is exactly what it says, it has no springs. How then can you bounce without springs you may ask? how does it work?

Without totally confusing you a springless trampoline is basically a layer of flexible fibre glass rods instead of springs, imagine then all the rods standing upright with all the tops bending in to the centre and connected together and you will then have the basics of a springless trampoline.

The legs of the frame are angled out outwards to give more support and stability. The springless trampoline can of course be used indoors but in most homes this is impractical so the outside is the best place to be.

Bounce Difference

There is quite a lot of discussion even argument about the difference in bounce quality between sprung and un sprung trampolines Manufacturers of the sprung version will say the sprung trampoline will give you a higher bounce where as those of the un sprung type will offer a wholly different view by saying that the springless trampoline offers a softer and smoother bounce which eliminates the jarring effect and is much kinder to knees and joints than the traditional spring based model.

Each model of a springless trampoline is designed for varying weights and usage, so when choosing what is right for you and your family ensure you select the right one.

No Safety Pads

Traditional trampolines have Safety Pads around the perimeter of the frame enclosing the frame edge and the springs, so why you may ask do springless models not have them ? The answer is simply they do not need them as the edge itself has more give in it than normal safety pads.

Indeed the soft edge is designed as to be softly landed upon although it is really not designed as a bouncing area, although it has some bounce all bouncing should be concentrated in the centre of the mat and treat the edge as a safety area.

Trampoline Enclosure

Safety of course should always be paramount in your mind when choosing a trampoline and no doubt you will have been impressed with many of the safety features already mentioned regarding the springless version, but perhaps the most important safety feature of any trampoline has to be the enclosure or safety net.

On normal sprung trampolines there are numerous choices but the majority of springless models come with the safety net already supplied. As there are fewer dangers with the springless trampoline the nets supplied with them basically perform the function of stopping the occupant from bouncing off the mat on to the floor and will guide them back onto the centre of the mat with no danger of landing on the frame or, on or through the springs present in the un sprung version where the majority of accidents occur.

Common Sizes and Weight recommendations

Obviously the size of your trampoline will be determined by the size of your backyard so here is a list of space requirements as recommended by a leading manufacturer and supplier www.springfreetrampoline.co.uk

R54 Minimum space required 16ft x 16ft

R79 Minimum space required 18ft x 18ft

092 Minimum space required 16ft x 21ft

S1113 Minimum space required 19ftx19ft

S155 Minimum space required 21ftx21ft

Weight Recommendations

R54 = 154lbs

R79 = 220lbs

092 = 220lbs

S113 = 220lbs

S155 = 220lbs

General Safety

Although springless trampolines have without doubt got the most safety features of any types of trampolines a few simple rules agreed between all those who are to use it with particular emphasis on children will ensure great fun for everyone.

These may be e.g.:-

Children can bounce only under the supervision of an adult.

Always mount and dismount using the ladders.

No toys or electrical’s when using the trampoline.

Take a look at the "Pure Fun 12 Foot Trampoline and Enclosure". The large bounce area, sturdy frame, resonable price and excellent safety features make this a popular choice amoung bouncers.

Pure Fun has been highly regarded and trusted in the trampoline industry for many years producing trampolines of all shapes and sizes from mini bouncers to the largest trampolines available.

I love trampolines and decided to have a look at what Pure Fun have to offer regarding a trampoline and enclosure combined. After a thorough search it became apparent that The Pure fun 12-Foot Trampoline and Enclosure is one of the most popular trampoline and enclosure packages on the market today being rated 4.5 stars by customers who have purchased from amazon.com so I decided to review this product.

The Trampoline

As the Trampoline is very likely to remain outdoors all year round the trampoline is made with heavy duty galvanised, rust resistant steel that will give years of good service.

Using galvanised rust resistant patented T-section no weld construction which keeps the whole trampoline frame from moving over time, and prevents the joint stress that lead to frame failure, it all adds up to a trampoline that is strong, sturdy, and if treated with the respect will have a long life and provide any family with many hours of fun and healthy exercise.

It is highly likely that all members of the family are likely at some time or another will have a bounce on the trampoline so to prevent it from tilting or vibrating the legs are W shaped with no fewer that eight balanced contact points and providing the trampoline is located on a level site it will be totally secure.

The actual bouncing mat itself is manufactured in the USA of weather resistant, high performance polypro material with UV protected webbing straps and is connected to the outer frame by high performance steel springs which owners say gives a great bounce.

Whilst many trampolines on the market do not have pads to cover the springs and outer frame which almost inevitably leads to jumpers landing on them and incurring nasty injuries, there are no such worries with the Pure Fun 12-foot Trampoline and Enclosure as they come with a PVC frame cover and thick foam padding that covers all the springs for extra protection.

It is recommended that at least two people construct the trampoline and enclosure, looking at customer reviews it does appear this is correct but many say that the tool provided is not very good, This can be overcome by using a box spanner and another tip is to use a little petroleum jelly and a rubber mallet to fit the T section snug.

The Enclosure

Safety of course is of paramount importance when it comes to your family’s well being so although the Pure Fun Trampoline has all the safety features required the one thing it cannot do is ensure that the jumper does not fall off.

The Pure Fun Enclosure of course fulfills that very important requirement for the whole family, another big plus is that parents can sit back and relax whilst watching the little ones bounce through the netting, and with a locking zipper allows parents to set jumping times and limits for the family.

The Enclosures are made of UV resistant mesh polyethylene terylene fabric that is sturdy enough to repel anyone who lets a jump get away from them. all the enclosures are TUV/GS and CE quality and safety certified, as well as ASTM approved.

Not only are Pure Fun enclosures safe they also match the trampoline to give it all a stylish and complete look.

The safety net of course hangs on eight poles, each of these poles have the added protection of being padded and also have weather resistant sleeves to increase the life of the enclosure.

It really is a very simple task to install a Pure Fun Enclosure to the trampoline with the steel clamp connectors for the leg poles. The enclosure is 5′ 5″ tall with protective plastic caps on top.

The Pure Fun 12-foot Trampoline and Enclosure comes with a 2 year limited warranty. This covers any defects and flaws in the workmanship and in the materials used assurance to the buyer.

I recommend going to www.amazon.com where you will find customer reviews on this product, and where at the moment they include free shipping in the very competitive price.
